Pankjavitsa (Vaivara subcamp)

Pankjavitsa was a Nazi German concentration-camp subcamp in the border area, part of the Vaivara system (1943–1944).

Forced labour and fate

Most of the prisoners were Jews brought from the Vilna and Kovno ghettos; they were forced to work in forced labour. The camp was closed as early as January 1944, its inmates moved to the Kūdupe, Petseri and Ülenurme subcamps.
