Concentration camps in Estonia

Kūdupe (Vaivara subcamp)

SubcampPiiriala (Läti)1943–1944

Kūdupe was a Nazi German concentration-camp subcamp in the border area (now Latvia), part of the Vaivara system (1943–1944).

Forced labour and fate

Most of the prisoners were Jews brought from the Vilna and Kovno ghettos; they were forced to work in forced labour. In 1944 the camp was liquidated together with the whole Vaivara system; survivors were taken to the Stutthof concentration camp or killed.
