The Narva German military cemetery

The Narva German military cemetery held the graves of German soldiers of the Second World War. As in Rakvere, it was destroyed during the occupation and restored only after the restoration of independence.

Destruction and restoration

According to the available accounts, the cemetery was levelled during the occupation and buildings were erected on the site. In the late 1990s (around 1997–1999) it was restored at the request of the German side, like Estonia's other German military cemeteries.
